Week 9

April 17th 2018 President Nelsen visits Zimbabwe 

Visiting the Prophet was so cool and a ton of fun.

We left our house at 5:30 in the morning and drove to the bus pick up. The bus left at 6:00 am and we arrived in Harare at 12 pm. We got to meet the prophet around 1:30 he talked to us and then we had to be back on the bus by 6 to drive back to the bus station. We got back at to the bus station at

 12:30 am then we drove home and were there by 1:00 am. Such a long day but it was so worth it!

Elder Holland talked to us as well and he said that we need to focus on our mission and give all our

time to the Lord. We can do this while we are young single missionaries. If we do this it can be life changing. 

We are running low on investigators so we need to find more we don't have a baptism this week but 

we have at least one next week. One of our investigators is about 30 years old and is struggling with some stuff and he doesn't ever want to leave his house. He resorts to drinking to forget about everything. We are trying to work with him to help get him ready for baptism on May 12th.

Most of the people here don't work and if they do they just sell things out of their houses like corn or little snacks. Most people walk everywhere or they go to town on a commuter van for 50 cents.

School here is a little different. they have 1-6 grade then they start forms. There is a form 1, form 2, form 3 and form 4. That is like all of junior high and high school. Then if they want to go to University they go to form 5 and 6 to prepare them for University. Right now all the kids are on break and go back in another month or so. They wear uniforms and I am pretty sure the schools separate the boys and girls until they reach the forms. The kids here are so cute and they always want to touch my hair because they've never felt white people hair before. 

By being on my mission I am learning to use everything as a example to teach the gospel.
